Aug 30,  · This is simply an increadable album. It has a classic, old school metal/acid rock sound; the guitars are heavy and dark. Pentagram is considered to have pioneered Doom Metal, this album does not sound like Doom Metal bands today such as Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Swallow the Sun, etc. Fans of these bands will probably still enjoy Pentagram's Last Rites - I did/5(6).

Pentagram's seventh full-length album was the most hyped release they ever put out. Released a long seven years after Show 'Em How, Last Rites is the group's first record distributed by Metal Blade Records and features another new lineup with their prodigal son Victor Griffin returning for guitar duties.

Pentagram is an American heavy metal band from Alexandria, Virginia, most famous as one of the pioneers of heavy metal, and the subgenre of doom metal in particular. The band was prolific in the underground scene of the s, producing many demos and rehearsal tapes, but did not release a full-length album until reforming in the early s with an almost completely new lineup.
