Sound of Vinyl LP. album by the wicked Brit guitar slinger, Dave Edmunds (I hear you knocking fame). Great gathering of the Rockplie: Edmunds, Nick Lowe, Billy Bremmer and Terry Williams, in my opinion the greatest English rock band of the 70s. These guys could play, literally anything from 50s rock n' roll to punkish Costello, and C&W on /5(46).

Recorded simultaneously with Nick Lowe's Labour of Lust, Dave Edmunds' Repeat When Necessary continues the winning streak of Get It and Tracks on Wax 4 simply by sticking to the formula. Though Rockpile's sound is a little cleaner here than before, nothing's changed but the songs, which are uniformly excellent. Culled primarily from pub rock contemporaries (and containing no Lowe songs.
